Dear family,

My name is Matthew and I am 20 years old. I am currently studying psychology in Madrid and I am interested in working this summer as an AuPair. I consider myself a responsable person. I listen to any needs that the kids might have. I can adapt very easily and I have been working with kids for a long time. I see myself as a social person and I know how to move around young kids. In all the jobs working with children I would always make sure they had fun, however, always in a safe w

Most of my jobs during the summers have involved kids. I have worked for two summers as a sailing instructor. One summer in Boston (EEUU) in a club called “Chapaquoit Yatch Club” and the other summer in Cádiz (South of Spain) in a sailing school called “Escuela de Vela Zaida”. I used to spend all my summers in Boston, so I got the chance to work as well in a soccer camp called “Just for Kicks”. All these jobs required for me not only to take care of the kids, but to teach them and assure they had fun. I had a lot of fun with them and I surely learned how to handle all kind of situations.
I am a fluid speaker in Spanish and English (I have double nationality since my father is American). I only know the basics in French, so I would constantly talk to your kids in English. From my own experience, just hearing the language is a great way of learning it (that is how my father taught us English).
Last summer I spent three months working in a restaurant in Northern Idaho (EEUU). That, combined with all the summers I spent in the US since I was 9, allowed me to know how it is to live in a foreign country.
As I said before, I can easily adapt to any environment and I would be happy to work this summer in France taking care of children.
