Ivona, 19, an AuPair from Bulgaria, looking for a job with a friendly family, starting from May until July
Dear Host Family,
Thank you for taking the time to read and consider my letter.
My name is Ivona Tatarova and I am 19 years old. I was born and raised in a picturesque village in Southern Bulgaria with my sister Karina, 24,who is working in the USA. I am currently living with both of my parents but for the last six years I have lived on my own in a dormitory in Plovdiv, the second biggest town in Bulgaria, to get better education. As a result, I became responsible from a young age and managed to learn how to handle different situations, tasks and duties. Last year I graduated from high school and decided to take a gap year because I really wanted to travel, learn and explore more of the world before going to university this September to study Psychology.
In my leisure time, I love to read, play chess, have walks in the nature and be with my friends and family. Drawing and languages have always been passions of mine as well - I can speak Bulgarian, French, English and Russian. Because of my love for children and teaching, I am now taking the TEFL course to become a qualified teacher.
In the past I worked as a nanny I took care of my cousins and other children almost every holiday, as well as the weekends or even after school. I had to take them to their swimming lessons, libraries or go shopping with them. It was a great and joyful time for me, because I was able to see how smart kids actually are and interact with them. I was responsible for helping them with their homeworks or entertaining them, playing different games like hide and seek, colouring ins or dancing. Depending on their age and parents' permission, sometimes we tried something else like cooking and we had a lot of fun. Some of the parents asked me to give them language lessons as well and it was a great experience. In addition, I was a volunteer in a non-governmental organization and we used to visit different orphanages where we interacted, played and talked with the kids.
Throughout the years I have developed the abilities, skills and work ethic necessary for the position. as I am a very warm, friendly and hard-working personand I am really easy to live with. I am respectful and reliable and when something goes wrong I prefer to be open and honest to people rather than being ignorant of it.
It would be a pleasure for me to become your AuPair as I love children and spending time with them. My experiences have prepared me well for all the responsibilities that come along with taking care of children. I am aware that sometimes it gets more difficult and it is not always play and fun, but my patience, calmness and flexibility will help me get the best out of these situations.
Working with you would be very exciting and helpful, and I would do and give my best to contribute to your family. Not only because of the cultural and language exposure and the opportunity to travel, but mostly because of the chance to enrich my child care experience.
I am beyond excited to hear more about you and your children. Thank you for taking the time to read my letter. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me. I am looking forward to hearing from you. Have a great day!
Best regards,
Ivona Tatarova
