My name is Charl, I am a 18 year old South African. I am looking for a warm and energetic family in America.
I am a very energetic person and I absolutely love it to make people smile and laugh. I am very hard working, trustworthy and loyal. I am a very social and warm person and I never hesitate or feel uncomfortable meeting new people. I am almost never shy and therefore I believe that I will be comfortable and connect easily with my host family.
Usually when I see a child, for instance at the mall, I go greet them and try to make them laugh. I have a big heart and it is very important for me to love and protect the people close to me. I am very dedicated and when someone asks me to do something I always do my absolute best. I am an independent person and I believe that I am ready to face the real world as an adult.
I live in Centurion, Pretoria in South Africa. I finished high school last year, but I am still unsure what I want to be when I grow up. In high school I was chosen in my final year to be a school leader as part of the student council on the Sport Committee. My home language is Afrikaans, but I speak English fluently and can speak basic German.
I come from a family of 4; my mother works at a bank and my father, Hennie is the Managing Director of Hain Lifesience SA. My Brother is turning 16 this year and he is still in High school. I am very close to my brother and we spent a lot of time playing outside, sports, fishing and video games. We have two dogs at the moment and I had a bird and a hamster when I was younger. I enjoy it to take my corgi for walks in the park and to play ball with her.
My hobbies are fishing, and hunting. I do all kinds of fishing: bass, shoreline, carp and fly fishing. I am interested in bow hunting as well, but I am still a bit new to it since I have only started last year. I am very active and I love being outdoors. In high school I played Rugby and Cricket, and participated in javelin. I played for my school's first team Rugby (it is the team which consists of the 17-19 year old boys with the most talent) in 2018. I played indoor baseball as well. Usually on Sundays me, my brother and mother go mountain biking or hiking and I absolutely love the thrill of the adventure.
I believe that the children will never be bored when I am around; I will keep them busy all the time. I will play ball or any game outside with the children and if my host family is comfortable with it I will take the children fishing and teach them how to master and absolutely love it. I am a fun person to be around, because I am very good at making people laugh and I am very energetic, which will help me to keep the children busy. My parents always say I am a super loving person and it is one of my best caracteristics which will help me alot in life.
When it comes to my childcare experience, I regularly help my aunt and my mother's best friend with their children.
· Friends of my mother's lives on a farm in Thabazimbi and they usually ask me to come in my school holidays to go take care of my niece, Cara-May since she was 3. Sometimes when they go to America they ask me to come to their farm and take care over her until they return to South Africa.
· The other children I take care of on occasion are 4 and 7, a boy and girl. They are the children of my mother's best friend and she calls me occasionally, in the week or on weekends when she needs me to take care of Dylan and Imke.
· Our church reaches out at the Thembisa Child Welfare Centre for orphaned children every last Saturday of each month. We help to feed the children and dress them with clean clothes. We provide activities for bigger children aged from 4 years old to 18 years old such as soccer, musical games, water sports and through bonding time.
I am looking for a live-in arrangement with a host family. I would like to stay with my host-family until January on the latest. It is important for me to always have a clean room and bathroom. I am not very picky with my food. I would not mind to help with little jobs in and around the house like cleaning after playing with the children, making small meals for the kids, etc.
I am looking forward to hear from you.
Greetings, Charl Rossouw
