Hello!
My name is Olivia Hughes. I am 25 years old. I am from Brighton, England. I am currently the Class Teacher in an International School in Barcelona.

I have been teaching for 8 years and hold a degree in Primary Education specialising in Early Years and International Education (Language development). I have experience of being Class teacher for 0-7 year olds, nanny/ au-pair for children aged 0-15 and volunteering with children aged 5-18 years. I am passionate about teaching and caring for children of all ages. Having worked internationally, I have noticed that many kindergartens and early learning environments tend to be extremely formal and with large numbers of children the focus is taken away from the individual child and their needs. I have extended experience in working with more child and family focussed approaches i.e. Montessori and Reggio Emilia.

I am now looking to start up my own day care program using the Reggio Emilia approach.
I would like to start this in the most natural and intimate way in order to ensure that each family is completely fulfilled with the experience. I am happy to initially work with one family and then slowly grow the group to 5-6 children. This will create a small enough group for each child to have maximum attention and care but also creates a social environment in which the children can share their experiences and learn English together. I am looking to rent a space to start this Project in September 2018 or perhaps starting with working in the family home (depending on the situation).
