An au pair will have plenty of free time between 9.15am – 3pm every day, and most evenings and weekends, depending on how he/she wishes to join in with our family. We are very flexible on this.
Ideally we would like an au pair who will enjoy living with our family and will be happy to stay for at least 11 months. We have plenty of accommodation and can offer a lot of privacy with own bedroom and bathroom.
There are colleges a few miles away in the historic town of Colchester where English language courses can be studied. Our previous au pairs have very much enjoyed this college and making friends from all over the world.
The families interests include: We are a happy, fun loving active family who love to spend time outdoors, at the beach, parks, local events and places of historic interest (Colchester is the oldest recorded town in Britain).
There are many clubs, bars, theatres, galleries, music venues, sports facilities and free activities available. And lots of students from many countries as it is also a University town.

They say: Lola Lane – Aged 7. Lola is a lot of fun and likes to do a whole variety of activities including dancing, swimming and going to the park. She is just about to start Year 2 at the local infant school which is a short walk from our home (around 7 minutes). A lot of her local friends also attend the school.
Louie Lane – Aged 5. Louie is your typical 5 year old boy. He loves football, cars and superheroes! He loves to be outside but also likes to sit quietly and watch a movie. Louie will start at the same school as Lola in September.
Jim and I (Emma) both work full time. Jim works selling boats (the big fancy type) which can take him away over night on occasions. Most of the time though he is based in London. He generally will be gone between 8 and 7 during the day though sometimes earlier/later. Jim is 42 and still loves both watching and playing sport. Jim is a very keen fisherman.
